✅ Daily Reminders: Student Comfort & Preparedness
We want every child to come to school happy, healthy, and ready to learn. Here are key daily essentials:
- Breakfast: Please ensure your child eats before school. If that’s not possible, inform the teacher so we can help. Kindly avoid candy or sugary junk food in the morning.
- Water: Pack large or multiple bottles to keep your child hydrated all day.
- Food: Include healthy snacks and neatly packed lunch with extra plates, cutlery, napkins.
- Early Years Students: Please also send spare diapers, clothes, small towel, wipes.
- Elementary Students (Year 1–6): Bring basic stationery (pencils, pens, erasers, rulers, markers).
👉 Don’t forget to label all personal items to avoid mix-ups.
🎂 Birthday Celebrations at School
We love celebrating your child’s special day! Cakes, refreshments, and gift bags are welcome but entirely optional.
✅ Celebrations must take place during break (1:30–2:00pm) and be planned in advance with the class teacher.
✅ Props or decorations should be brought to school the day before.
✅ Consider donating a storybook to your child’s class library to mark the occasion meaningfully.
🏡 Supporting Learning at Home
Learning doesn’t stop at school! Help your child thrive by creating a positive study space at home.
✔️ Provide a calm, quiet spot with supplies (pencils, erasers, crayons, scissors, glue, rulers).
✔️ Encourage them to try first before helping.
✔️ Praise effort, not just results.
✔️ Read, sing, talk, and play to build early skills.
For details, check our Guide to Supporting Learning at Home on bds.ng.
📚 Reading is Key!
Reading 20 minutes a day has big benefits:
✅ Builds strong vocabulary
✅ Improves focus and comprehension

Any reading counts—fairy tales, comics, fact books! Let’s build a culture of reading together.
